Last Day: Bubble Parting Party
It's a tradition. Each year, as we count down the last few minutes of school, we celebrate our time together with a bubble party.
I hope that you enjoyed your DVD gift that Mrs. Standlee put inside your report cards.
It was an honor to be your teacher.
Remember to read over the summer.
Consult the reading incentive sheet I sent home in your report card to keep you reading this summer.
I will miss you all.
Enjoy your summer!
Don't forget to wear your helmets when riding anything with wheels.
Keep that brain protected, because you learned a lot this year and you don't want to mess with all that new knowledge.
I'll see you in the hallways when you come back as a third grader!
Peace out!

Fairy Tale Puppets on Display
Our class made fairy tale puppets to go along with our fairy tale unit.
Here are the creations made by the students by their own hands and creativity.
Note: the puppets are the ones in the front! :) Yes, that's me being funny!

Home Made Ice Cream?
In order to celebrate our fact fluency in addition, we had an Ice Cream Party - with homemade ice cream from fresh eggs!
Here is Mr. Standlee, Mrs. Standlee's husband, along with Mr. and Mrs. Standlee Seniors - Mr. Standlee's parents.
The Standlee Seniors are the ones who made this ice cream for us to enjoy! Aren't we lucky?
The Ice Cream Bar was a success and we enjoyed the sweet creamy taste so much, that there was NO ice cream left!
Three cheers for ice cream! Three cheers for knowing our addition facts so well.
They are just the crazy ones, don't mind them.
And to think, this one USED to be SHY!
A huge THANK YOU to the Standlee Seniors for providing such a special treat for our class.

Fairy Tale Puppets
We made fairy tale puppets after Field Day, out of plastic water bottles, wooden spoons, glue guns, designer duck tape and lots of material.
Here they are.
The students then organized themselves into a production with beat boxing by Josh, drumming by Charles, assistant directing by Mylee all under the direction of Samir. Most students were actors. Others chose to be the audience members. I really enjoyed their production.

Are You Reading This Summer?
I hope that you are reading with all of the reading incentives I sent home in your report card. I want you to start third grade using the skills you had when you left second grade. It's not too late to begin, either. Make some time to read today! And then again tomorrow.
Field Day: Station Six
Look out! We've got balls, and we know how to throw them!
We know how to catch them and run the balls to the bucket before you run around the bases!
We were lucky that the rain did not spoil our day.
We thank our PE specialist, Mr. Lofstrom, for continuing to make our Field Day memorable and enjoyable each and every year. Also, we are grateful to all of the parent and grandparent volunteers!
