Another Surgery?
Yes, it's true. I had to have a second emergency surgery. I am so sad that I am not able to be with the students to learn about Chinese New Year, Groundhogs Day and the Seahawks Super Bowl, but I am working hard to be there for Parent Conference Week and we are so lucky that Mrs. Schlecht has agreed to remain with us until my return. I hope that you have enjoyed the activities I made for the Seahawks in computer lab, writing and math. My goal is for you to have a grand knowledge of this amazing experience we are lucky enough to share with our state and to use that knowledge to have so much fun when you watch that amazing game on Sunday!

Holiday SingAlong
The recorder group played for us. Mr. Abernethy is their fearless leader and teacher.
It's time for a stretch break, so that means dancing!
Mr. Abernethy and Mr. Lofstrom keep us laughing and moving.

From Birthday to Surgery
Well, it's true. I just celebrated a milestone birthday with my family and a Seahawks win, and a day later I end up sick and a day after that I have an emergency surgery. I am missing my classroom madly. I have worked hard to ensure good teachers while I am gone. Each evening, I will be going into the classroom to gather the day's lessons and to prep and plan for the next day. My scheduled return date is Feb 3. I can be reached by email, daily. An interesting way to begin the year, for sure.
Holiday Gift Bags
We made cards to give with our snowflakes. Then we decorated the bags. Finally, Mr. Domingo helped us wrap our gifts. I hope these gifts were as fun to receive as they were to make.

Seahawks Friday
The Seahawks were playing in the first playoff game, here in Seattle against the Saints. Mr. and Mrs. Standlee bought these necklaces so that each student could show some Seahawks bling.
The next playoff game was agains the San Francisco 49s and Mrs. Standlee had emergency surgery, so she was not with the class. Boo! But the Seahawks won, so now it's Super Bowl, Baby!
We are excited to watch the Seahawks play the Denver Broncos for the Super Bowl! This will be only the second visit for the Seahawks history. We got this! SeaHAWKS!

Snowflake Ornaments
The students made snowflake ornaments to give for their gifts.
Mr. Domingo helped, of course. What would we do without him?
