Earth Day Activities
We celebrated Earth Day with some paint and a poem.
We also created two goals for our classmates to live by on Earth Day. Several of the students gloved-up and picked up litter on the playground during lunch recess. I was very proud of them. They showed their commitment to Earth Day. We also watched a film on the meaning of Earth Day, and we did some classroom worksheets on the theme and read a Scholastic News article. We now know what Earth Day means and how to participate. Most importantly, we know how important Mother Earth is to each of its inhabitants.

Charlie Williams the Noise Guy
We had an assembly that was sponsored by the King County Library System regarding their "Fizz! Boom! Read!" summer reading program. Charlie Williams, the Noise Guy, is such a funny comedian who uses sounds he makes with his own mouth as a source of humor. He promoted science with his presentation. Please look for the program announcements in this week's Friday Folders.

Golden Plate Navigator Award
Our class earned the Golden Plate Award for the month because we had the cleanest lunchroom area: picked up trash, cleaned tables, and clean floors. Way to go Room 206 Navigators!
