Class Data Collecting Project

During our study on charts and graphs, we decided to collect our own data.
We decided to collect data from the third and fourth graders at lunch.

The question asked was:
Which is your favorite animal: dog, lizard, rabbit or snake?

In the end, the dog had the most votes.

St.Patrick's Day in Room 206

The leprechauns brought us some gold and didn't even turn over our chairs or mess up our room as those naughty leprechauns typically do. Yum!

We also celebrated with Lucky Charm Math. We constructed graphs and composed double-digit addition problems that we then solved.

We created lucky leprechauns and learned how to use brads in art.

Additionally. we crafted some shamrocks.

This is a study of lines and color.

It's a Cat in the Hat Kind of Day

To celebrate Dr. Seuss' 110th birthday, we had ourselves a whole lot of Dr. Suess activities today.

Our craftivity today was a celebration of all the Dr. Seuss books we read during reading. We also worked on our conventions - remembering that titles have to have the first letter capitalized for each work unless it's one of those conjunctions like "a" and "the" and "and." But those conjuctions have to be capitalized IF they are the first letter in the title.
 Phew!
Got all that? I know you do.

Here is our classroom library of Dr. Seuss books we had the privilege to read today. Of course, Mrs. Standlee doesn't own ALL of the Dr. Seuss books. That's what our school library is for...

Mrs. Standlee bought each student a cool Dr. Seuss character eraser and each student got a nifty sticker.

Stars Shine at the Talent Show

A World of Talent

Isaiah's dad and brother performed a country song. That brother, Jordan can really play. That dad, Mr. A, can really sing!

Here's Miss Mylee singing her way into stardome.

The Office Gang came in with a tune from The Lego Movie!

They are just goofey!

A big thanks to all of the parents and students who put on this show for us to enjoy!

Planting Brassica Seeds

We planted brassica seeds today. These plants are in the mustard family.

Look how tiny these seeds are.

Look again. They are so tiny it is hard to believe anything can be produced from such a small seed. Check back in a few weeks to see what we cultivate.
